Before you play

Physics runs on a very short list of rules

Energy is never created or destroyed, and a surprising number of quiz answers follow from that alone.

Conservation laws, Newton’s three laws and a handful of named units cover most introductory physics. The units themselves are a memory aid: force is measured in newtons, pressure in pascals, power in watts and frequency in hertz, each honouring the person who pinned the idea down. Knowing which quantity a unit belongs to is often enough to eliminate three of four options before you even read them properly.

Scoring: one point per correct answer. 0-3 makes you a Beginner, 4-7 an Explorer and 8-10 a Master. Your best result is kept in this browser, so you can come back and try to beat it.
